Episode 039 - Greg Denning, Worldschool Family
From an early age, Greg faced some challenging circumstances. He grew up in a tough situation and left home by the time he was sixteen, where he was often faced with homelessness, hunger, loneliness and depression. Yet as a result, he became firmly committed to creating a better life for himself — one filled with learning, love and meaning. Greg was able to make it happen through self discipline, voracious reading and hard work. He received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah in English Literature, but more valuable to him is the self-education he’s received since graduating from college, through personal study and travel. Greg has been traveling and living abroad with his wife and children (now 6) since 2007. They have traveled or lived in British Columbia, the Yukon, India, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Peru, Costa Rica and many states in the United States (including one year in Alaska). He and his family are currently living in Costa Rica, for the second time. Greg and Rachel world-school their children, and Greg is an educational mentor for youth and adults, providing mentoring to further their educational and life goals, in both group and one-on-one settings.
